Vanashakti is an environmental NGO based in Mumbai, India. The organization was founded in 1991 by a group of environmentalists who were concerned about the rapid degradation of the environment in and around Mumbai. The primary focus of Vanashakti is on preserving and restoring forests, wetlands, and other natural habitats,  also giving environmental education to both urban and rural schools.  In addition to this, Vanashakti also works towards reducing pollution and promoting sustainable development practices.

The organization also works to protect and promote the rights of indigenous communities and traditional forest dwellers who depend on these resources for their livelihoods. Vanashakti has been involved in various campaigns to save mangroves, protect the coastal zone, and conserve the biodiversity of the Western Ghats. Through its efforts, Vanashakti has become a leading voice for environmental conservation and sustainable development in India.
