Founder's vision & message

The core Team of The Ugly Indian, often considered the collective founder of this movement, has pushed the development of the NGO with a strong hope that the citizens could make the civic place better without seeking any charity-driven publicity.  The Team of The Ugly Indian has inspired more than 10,000 volunteers across Bengaluru, Karnataka, and beyond, shaping one of India’s most influential urban-cleanup initiatives. They are more problem solvers instead of problem complainers.

The Team leads The Ugly Indian, a well-known NGO in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and has undertaken major projects like Under the Flyover (UFO), Spot-Fixing, wall-beautification drives, transformations, and market-area cleanups. Their Mission is to “clean, beautify, and sustain public spaces through silent volunteer action,” while their Vision aims for “self-driven civic responsibility across India.”

Over the years, the team has collaborated with Bengaluru Traffic Police, BBMP, citizen groups, local corporators, and supporters such as Infosys, Wipro, and several community charity partners to amplify its presence in the entire country.
