Shaheen Mistri was just 18 year old when she realised that world was not just for all. The underprivileged students were lacking the basic education despite of their bright minds. It was then she joined hands with her friends and started voluntary teaching to the poor children in the area. Her first small classroom was started at the Holy Name High School in Colaba. Since then the organisation has grown like a tree and has spread its wins across the U.S. & the U.K.

The philanthropist approach of the founder of The Akanksha Foundation worked hard for the next 16 years to set up 60 education centres across the state that helped teach over 3000 children from the poor families. It was her never ending passion that helped her in delivering elementary and basic education to thousands of children across the state.
