Founder's vision & message

John Veitch is the visionary founder of Hope Community Village, an NGO in Alappuzha Kerala, that works to provide long‑term family care for orphaned and vulnerable children. John Veitch was born in the UK, but was moved by the plight of destitute children in Alappuzha and established Hope Community Village to create family‑like homes where children grow with love and support rather than in institutional settings.  The NGO, based in Alappuzha, Kerala, operates primarily in the child welfare and education fields, building family homes and outreach programs across the district.

Under John Veitch’s leadership, the charity NGO has developed major projects like Hope Children’s Village, Hope Youth House as well as outreach education and IT and library programmes for rural communities. The mission of the organization is to give a loving home to children who have lost parental care, and its vision is to see every child thrive with dignity and belonging. 

Hope Community Village has also received support from major charitable partners, such as the Randal Charitable Foundation which has invested in vocational training and education programs.
