Goonj Foundation was started by Anshu Gupta in 1999 with a vision to grow as an idea across regions, economies, and countries using urban discord as a tool to alleviate poverty and enhance the dignity of the poor in the world. Since its founding, it has grown to provide services all over the Delhi region along with other states like Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. Apart from empowering women, this Delhi-based local NGO is providing stable employment to women in slums by encouraging them to join their workforce and repair the old donated clothes.
