Rajni Anand and fellow founders developed the NGO in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and strengthened its Bihar (Gaya) branch, with a view that charity that matters should empower communities and not just be for temporary sustenance. The Deshkal Society has, over the years, organised several community volunteers in Bihar (Gaya) and Uttar Pradesh to consolidate its grassroot reach.

The NGO Deshkal Society, in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, through its Bihar (Gaya) branch, has led several projects such as Homestead Land Rights, Anandshala, Teaching Support for Government Schools, and the Bodh Gaya Global Dialogues.
