*Enter Medical Alert systems for seniors*

These are emerging as a lifeline. Empowering older adults to live independently while reassuring their families. Today, there is a plethora of devices available in the market that it literally becomes difficult to choose the best one for them.

Don’t worry, though. In this blog, we will share a list of ten medical alert systems and devices available in India, talking about their features, pricing, and pros and cons. All of these can help elders live independently by providing instant communication during medical emergencies,  falls, or disorientation.

What are the Best Medical Alert Systems for Seniors?

These devices are known to offer instant access to golden-agers:

NSS SmartCare

NSS Secure markets SmartCare pendants and base units designed specifically for seniors in India. These wearable devices allow seniors to raise SOS alerts at the push of  a button, with options for fall detection and two-way communication. Prices vary depending on the package, typically ranging from basic pendants to monitored services,  and buyers must request quotes directly from the vendor. While it benefits from India-based support and senior-friendly design, the lack of upfront, transparent pricing can be a drawback.

SecuLife GPS Tracker Watch

Available on Amazon India for around  ₹11,000, SecuLife GPS Tracker with Fall medical alert system (smartwatch) allows seniors to alert caregivers instantly, share GPS  location. Some versions even let them engage in two-way calls. It requires a SIM card and data plan, which adds a small monthly cost. The key advantages are outdoor tracking and fall detection, but users must ensure reliable cellular coverage and manage battery charging.

FamCare SOS Emergency Button

Ubuy India sells the FamCare SOS Emergency Button for about ₹6,200. This compact device pairs with a smartphone app. One can designate alerts at the press of a button. This medical alert system will make it easy for young people to trace their senior’s location. Although it does not include professional monitoring, it is really useful for families willing to manage alerts themselves.

The main benefits are affordability and simplicity, while its reliance on smartphones for connectivity can limit its usefulness for less tech-savvy seniors.

Ansfrid SmartCare

Ansfrid, a Kerala-based startup, develops affordable smart pendants and wearables to provide emergency alerts for the elderly. Their devices are built with a focus on seniors living alone, offering SOS alerts and caregiver notifications. Prices vary by model but are intended to be budget-friendly compared to imported devices. As a local startup,  Ansfrid promises relevant features and cultural fit, though availability and distribution remain somewhat limited.

SmartKavach (Wearphone)

Branded as the “Wearphone,” SmartKavach is an IoT-based medical alert system designed for automatic fall detection. In the event of a fall, it can escalate alerts to hospitals, caregivers, or even emergency services along with GPS location. Pricing is provided on request and depends on deployment scale, but it usually comes with a recurring subscription for monitoring.

The biggest advantage of this medical alert system for seniors is professional-grade monitoring. Though higher costs and complex installation may deter individual buyers.

Tigertrack Wearable GPS

The Tigertrack GPS tracker is marketed through senior-care retailers like 60Plus India. It  includes an SOS button and location sharing features, making it suitable for seniors who  go outdoors frequently. Costs are not always listed upfront, but prices typically fall in the mid-range bracket for GPS devices. It requires a SIM card and data plan, which may add   recurring expenses. Its simplicity and targeted features make it a solid choice for seniors prone to wandering or memory-related issues.

SeniorWorld Easyfone Shield and Amkette SOS Band

For seniors who prefer low-cost, easy-to-use solutions, options like the Easyfone  Shield SOS phone and Amkette SOS Band are popular. Prices range from ₹1,500 to  ₹8,000, depending on the model and seller. These devices are straightforward: one-touch SOS alerts connect seniors to family contacts without complicated interfaces.  While they lack professional monitoring or advanced fall detection, they are accessible and effective for budget-conscious families.

Generic 4G LTE Emergency Pendants

A variety of imported 4G LTE emergency pendants are available on Amazon and international marketplaces, priced between ₹2,000 and ₹15,000. Many come with advanced features such as fall detection, GPS, and two-way voice. However,  professional monitoring plans on this medical alert system for seniors often cost $30–60 per month internationally. Not practical for Indian buyers.

However, families can rely on SIM-based caregiver alerts to avoid recurring foreign service fees. These pendants offer great functionality. But one may also face compatibility and warranty issues in India.

PSIBORG Elderly SOS Systems

PSIBORG offers a range of elderly alert systems in India, from pendants to GPS  trackers and emergency watches. These devices are marketed as flexible solutions where pricing depends on model and monitoring preferences. Families can choose between simple SOS alert systems or more advanced trackers with app support. While  PSIBORG provides helpful comparisons and local availability, buyers must clarify warranty and after-sales support before purchase.

Marketplace Options (Amazon, Ubuy, Elder Ease, 60Plus India)

Finally, general marketplace listings on Amazon, Ubuy, and senior-care portals like  Elder Ease and 60Plus India provide the widest choice. Basic panic buttons can cost as little as ₹600–₹6,000, while GPS-enabled smartwatches range from ₹6,000–₹20,000

For professionally monitored services, recurring costs can be ₹1,600–₹5,000/month,  though in India, many families prefer self-monitored app alerts to avoid high fees. These platforms are best for comparing user reviews and prices before buying.

Medical Alert Systems for Seniors: Cost Summary

Medical alert devices in India span a wide range. Low-cost family-monitored pendants are available for under ₹6,000, mid-range GPS trackers for ₹6,000–₹15,000 and fully monitored services can run ₹2,000–₹5,000 per month. Families must weigh recurring costs against the level of safety and independence needed.

Medical Alert Systems for Seniors: Conclusion

Medical alert systems for seniors in India are gradually expanding, with both local startups and international imports shaping the market. Families can choose between simple panic buttons,  feature-rich GPS watches, or professional 24/7 monitored solutions, depending on budget and needs.

Those looking for affordable, no-subscription options may find value in SOS bands or basic pendants, while families prioritizing outdoor tracking and fall detection should consider  GPS smartwatches. For seniors requiring maximum safety with professional monitoring, Indian solutions like NSS SmartCare or SmartKavach are promising, though they come at a higher cost.
