According to a report, the number of elderly persons is expected to grow to 170 million by 2025 in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make our readers aware about the current state of senior citizens in India, we are here with recent stats and data on the condition of senior citizens.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Senior Citizens in India: Status and Data 2021<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Among all senior citizens, 69% of senior citizens of India live in rural areas and 31% are in urban areas.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Over 15 million senior citizens in India are homeless.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>According to the NRCB, Mumbai has been mentioned as the most unsafe city for elderly citizens in India.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>63% of elderly men and 26% of elderly women were working in rural areas. Remaining 4% were either never married or divorced.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There are around 728 old age homes in India. It is 50% for women aged over 60 years.
